The gap it closes
The shelf charges for the controls. The leader, 5.0★ over 1,047 reviews, gives “a few falling effects” away free and puts the decorations, “Show the effects in specific pages”, its “Effect Scheduler” and “Fully control the effect’s speed, density and more” behind $4.99 a month. Its own reviewers put it in four words: “Good. But premium features only”.
Half the shelf has no free plan at all. Six of the thirteen apps a buyer finds charge from the first day, from $1.99 a month, and a seventh needs a Premium Wix site. Of the ones that charge, five charge to choose which pages an effect runs on, and five charge to set its dates.
And an effect that never stops is the complaint. One reviewer of the leader says their customers complained that it “slows down the webpage as well as it bothers them”, and another asks for a way to “set a duration … since keeping an effect active all the time can make the website tiring, distracting, or even annoying”.
Some of them simply do not work. All three one-star reviews of the app named for snow say so: “Doesn’t work at all. Never shows up on my website.” Next door, a reviewer who wanted “images hanging down (like Halloween decorations)” found “only one feature. Simply falling images.”

Pick an occasion, or make your own
Choose one of eighteen occasions, from New Year and Lunar New Year to Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas, and the effect, the dates and often a decoration are filled in for you. Or start from nothing: seventeen effects, from snow, autumn leaves and blossom to bats, balloons and fireworks, or a picture of your own falling instead.

Make it yours
How many, how fast, how big, which way the wind blows, and your own colours. Add a decoration along the top of the page — string lights, bunting, a pine garland, icicles, cobwebs or hanging hearts — and it hangs just below your menu, never over it. All of it is on the free plan.

Say when, where and for how long
Set the dates, then choose every page or only the pages you tick. Choose how long it runs on each visit: the whole time, for a few seconds and then fade, as a burst that settles, or until the visitor scrolls. Phones can have the same, a lighter version with half as many and no decoration, or nothing at all.

Watch it before your visitors do
The dashboard preview runs the same engine your site does, as a computer or as a phone, and a See it on my site link shows the effect on your published site straight away, whatever its dates. Changes you save reach your site within a minute, with no need to publish again.

Plan the whole year, once
On Pro, several effects each keep their own dates and repeat every year on their own, and holidays whose dates move, like Easter, Diwali and Lunar New Year, are worked out for you every year. Set Christmas, Halloween and Valentine’s Day once and they come back every year.

Every effect, decoration and control is free, on every plan
There is no effect list, no decoration list and no size, speed, colour or amount in the plan limits at all, so no plan can hold one back. What Pro adds is the year: several effects with their own dates, repeating every year, and moving holidays worked out for you.

It never slows your site
One canvas, with a firm ceiling on how many things move: 150 on a phone, 300 on a computer. It watches its own drawing time on the visitor’s own device and halves the count whenever that runs long, then switches itself off rather than slow the page. It pauses in a hidden tab, and a page that is not drawing anything does not even download the drawing code.

Nothing ever takes a click
The effect is drawn on a layer that lets every click and tap straight through to your page, and decorations hang below your menu, never across it. Visitors get a Stop button in the corner you choose, and once it is pressed the effect stays stopped as they move around your site.

It honours reduced motion
A visitor whose device asks for less motion gets nothing falling and nothing bursting; a decoration stays, standing still.

With nothing switched on, its script comes off your site
When every effect is off, the app takes its site-wide script off your site entirely rather than leaving it to load and do nothing. A layer you placed stays in your header, invisible, and draws nothing.

Installing & getting started
- Add Seasonal & Celebration Effects to your Wix site from the App Market and approve the permissions listed below.
- Open it from your site dashboard under Apps. It adds the A site-wide script that Wix adds to your site while an effect is switched on, and removes when none is / An invisible effects layer you can place in your header, for sites without a Premium plan / A dashboard page for your effects, the preview, your settings and your plan / Two collections in your own site’s content manager.
- Follow the five steps above. The free tier covers every effect and every decoration, with every control: how many, how fast, how big, the wind, your own colours and a picture of your own. Eighteen occasions with their dates filled in. Permissions, and why each one
Manage embedded scripts- The effects run from one script the app adds to your site through Wix, and your settings travel inside it. This is how the dashboard saves them there, and how it takes the script off your site entirely when every effect is switched off.
Read site, business and email details- It is how the app knows which site is asking and which plan that site is on.
What is stored, and where
- Your effects are kept in the app’s own setting on your site, which is what your pages read, with a backup copy in a collection in your own content manager.
- A record of your changes, the newest 200, is kept in your own content manager on every plan. It names the effect that changed, never anybody who visited.
- Nothing about a visitor is collected. Which effect runs is decided in the visitor’s own browser from settings that arrive inside the page, so an ordinary page view asks nobody anything.
- The one thing ever written to a visitor’s browser is their own press of the Stop button, kept for that tab only and gone when it closes. There are no cookies.
- If you use a picture of your own as the effect, visitors’ browsers load it from wherever you keep it.
- Uninstalling removes the app’s collections. Nothing else on your site is touched.

Questions people ask.
Are the effects really free?
Yes, every one of them, with every decoration and every control, on the free plan. The free plan runs one effect at a time on the dates you set. Pro is for setting the whole year once, with effects that repeat every year and moving holidays worked out for you.
Will it slow my site down?
It is built not to. There is one canvas with a firm ceiling on how many things move, and it watches its own drawing time on each visitor’s device, halving the count whenever it runs long and switching itself off rather than slow the page. It pauses in a hidden tab, and a page with nothing to draw never downloads the drawing code at all.
Can I choose which pages it shows on?
Yes, on the free plan: every page, or only the pages you tick. Pro adds whole sections of your site, like every blog post.
Can it run for only a few seconds?
Yes. Each effect can run the whole time a page is open, for a set time and then fade away, as a burst that settles into something gentler, or until the visitor starts to scroll. And visitors can press Stop.
What happens on phones?
You choose, for each effect: the same as on a computer, a lighter version with half as many and no decoration along the top, or nothing on phones at all.
My site is on the free Wix plan. Will it work?
Yes. Wix does not reliably run an app’s site-wide script on a site without a Premium plan yet, so the dashboard asks you to add the invisible Seasonal effects layer once — Add Elements → App Widgets (Installed Apps in Wix Harmony) → Seasonal & Celebration Effects. Put it in your header, and in Wix Studio set its Position type to Pinned; in Wix Harmony, put it in your footer and leave it unpinned. Placed that way it keeps your header its own height, is on every page, never takes a click, and your visitors never see it. In a footer, Wix starts it as a visitor scrolls near the footer, so on a long page the effects begin partway down.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing you made is deleted. The free plan runs one effect, so the first you have switched on carries on and the rest wait, with every setting kept, until you upgrade again. What stops is the Pro and Business extras: repeating every year, moving holidays, whole sections, times of day, bursts on arrival, copying between sites and the change record.
Does it work on Wix Studio?
Yes. It runs on Wix Studio, the classic Wix Editor and Wix Harmony, from the same dashboard.
