The gap it closes
There are two apps on this shelf and neither of them has a free plan. One is Verified by Wix and bills through an account on the vendor’s own site — “Low-cost pricing starting at $7,5/mo”, a three-day trial, nothing free. Its four reviews are all five stars and three of them are about the support desk rather than the product; the one with any detail says “I had missed a setting to make the image live”.
The other is 1★ over two reviews, with a seven-day trial and four paid tiers — $4.98, $6.92, $11.08 and $19.40 a month. Read what the tiers actually differ on: “Number of Hotspots Per Image (3)” and “Number of Images Possible To Add (3)”, then 6 and 5, then 10 and 10, then 20 and 100. Every other bullet on every tier is the same sentence printed twice.
Its newest review is the one that decided how this app is built: “Stay away! — Unknown to us, the hotspot app stopped working on the client’s site and all the data disappeared. When enquired, no remedy or refund was offered.”
And its other review is a complete list of what a hotspot app must not do: “Very difficult to use. Settings box takes time to load. To change the hotspot’s animation you have to go back to ‘none’ … also NOT editable. Text options are limited (can’t ‘Enter’ to add a new line of text — it’s all one line). You can’t upload an image. You copy the link from Wix Media to insert in the hotspot settings. Very strange … Colors have to be selected through code not a visual color picker. While you’re making changes in the settings box, the whole image/hotspot/app is flashing.” Every one of those is fixed here, and on the free plan.
How it works
Three steps, then it runs itself.

Put a point where you are looking
Select the spot on your own photograph, plan or diagram in the dashboard and the point lands there. Drag it to move it, or select one and nudge it with the arrow keys. The position is a percentage of the picture, so a point placed on a 620-pixel preview is on the same door at 1,240 pixels and at 320.

Say as much as it needs
A title, a short line for a price or a size, and as many paragraphs as the thing deserves — press Enter and you get a new line. A picture inside the panel, chosen from your own site’s media. A link that goes anywhere, with your own wording on the button.

Choose how it opens, and where
Six markers, a pulse you can edit or switch off, and four panel shapes: a callout beside the point, a plain card, a side panel that never covers the picture, or a caption strip underneath. Every colour comes from a real colour picker. Every one of those is free, and it runs on Wix Studio, the classic Wix Editor and Wix Harmony.

Three points or thirty, one picture or a dozen, on as many pages as you like. The only paid app on this shelf charges $4.98 a month for the third point and $19.40 for the twentieth; here there is no number you can exceed.

The panel stays on the picture, at any edge
A point at two per cent or ninety-eight per cent opens a panel that is still completely on the picture, with its pointer moved so it still points at its own marker. Measured on a published page at all four corners and all four edges.

No watermark and no badge, on any plan, ever
Not on the page, not in the editor, not in an exported file. There is nothing of ours on your page to remove, because there is nothing of ours there.

Your words keep their paragraphs
The panel holds as many lines as you type. The one detailed review on this shelf is that its rival’s text “can’t Enter to add a new line — it’s all one line”, which makes a hotspot that cannot describe anything.

It reads on a phone
A dozen markers on a phone-width picture are a few pixels apart, so every picture also draws a numbered list underneath — same numbers, same order, one tap — and a callout that would cover the picture becomes a strip below it instead.

Your pictures never leave your own site
A picture is a link to a file already in your Media Manager, picked through your site’s own picker. This app receives no upload, stores no file, has no quota you can fill and nothing to migrate. Remove the app and every file is exactly where you put it.

Your points are your own data, and nothing can take them away
Every point is an ordinary row in your own site’s data, visible in your own CMS and exportable to a CSV on every plan, at any time. The worst review on this shelf is a paying customer whose app stopped working and whose data disappeared with it.

It measures nothing about your visitors
No cookie, no local storage, no session, no identifier, no third-party request of any kind. Business can count how many times each point is opened — a tally per point and nothing else, with nothing stored about the person and nothing placed on their machine.

One request per placement, and then nothing
Measured on a published page: exactly one call to fetch the picture and its points, and opening all eight of them added none. Every marker on a picture is one element, not one element each.

It respects a visitor who asked for less movement
The pulse stops and nothing moves — and nothing changes size or position either. A layout that grows because of somebody’s accessibility setting is not an accessibility path.

- Add Image Hotspots & Labels to your Wix site from the App Market and approve the permissions listed below.
- Open it from your site dashboard under Apps. It adds the Image hotspots & labels element (editor widget, any page, any number of times) / Dashboard page.
- Follow the three steps above. The free tier covers no cap on points, pictures or placements, six markers, the pulse (editable and switchable), all four panel shapes, open on press or under the pointer or always-showing labels, every colour from a real colour picker, multi-line words with a picture and a link in each panel, alt text throughout, the numbered list that makes a phone usable, keyboard and touch, and CSV export, so you can prove it works before paying.

What is stored, and where
- Your pictures and points — the address of the picture in your own Media Manager, the alt text, every title and paragraph, the links, your wording and your design — are stored in collections inside your own site.
- No file is ever uploaded to this app. A picture is a link to one that already lives in your site’s media, and it is drawn from that address untouched and uncropped.
- Nothing about a visitor is stored. No cookie, no local storage, no session, no identifier. On the Business plan a point can be counted: what is written is a tally saying that point was opened, and nothing whatsoever about who opened it.
- The widget makes one request per placement to fetch the picture and its points, and then runs everything in the browser. It contacts no third party.
- Uninstalling removes the app’s collections. Nothing else on your site is touched.

Questions people ask.
How many points can I have on the free plan?
As many as you like, on as many pictures and as many pages as you like. There is no number you can exceed. The only paid app on this shelf sells exactly that number — three points for $4.98 a month, twenty for $19.40 — so there was nothing to undercut feature by feature. The free plan is the product.
Is there a watermark or a badge on the free plan?
No, and there is none on any plan, ever. There is nothing of ours on your page to remove.
What happens to a point right at the edge of the picture?
Its panel opens on whichever side has room and is then kept on the picture, with the pointer moved so it still points at its own marker. That is the thing this shelf gets wrong, and it is why a point on a door or a balcony is usable here.
Can a point have more than one line of text?
Yes. Press Enter and you get a new line, as many paragraphs as the thing needs. The rival’s own one-star review is that its text “can’t Enter to add a new line — it’s all one line”.
Where are my pictures stored?
In your own site’s Media Manager, where they already are. This app never receives an upload and keeps no file of yours, so there is no storage of ours to fill and nothing to lose.
What happens if I stop using the app?
Your points are ordinary rows in your own site’s data — you can see them in your CMS and export them to a CSV at any time, on any plan. The worst review on this shelf is a paying customer whose app stopped working and whose data went with it.
What happens on a phone?
The picture is drawn whole, the markers stay where they belong, and a numbered list appears underneath with the same numbers in the same order — because a dozen markers on a 390-pixel picture are a few pixels apart. A callout that would cover the picture becomes a strip below it.
Does it track my visitors?
No. No cookie, no local storage, no identifier, no third party. On Business you can count how often each point is opened — that writes a tally per point and nothing at all about the person.
Does it work on Wix Studio?
Yes. It is a custom element, so it runs on Wix Studio, the classic Wix Editor and Wix Harmony — the same app and the same settings panel. It was built and verified on a published Wix Studio page and on a published classic Wix page.
