FAQ Sections & Search

A separate FAQ for every page, with search that stays inside the section it is on and nothing ever added to a page for you.

  • One FAQ per page
  • Scoped search
  • Open counts
  • Never auto-added

The gap it closes

The FAQ app most sites already have sits at 2.7★ across more than 1,100 reviews, and the complaints are not about polish. They are about shape. It gives a site one FAQ, shared by every page, so the delivery questions and the workshop questions end up in the same accordion.

It also adds itself to the home page and will not leave, and its highest-voted review reports that once you use it on more than one page, its search starts returning answers from the wrong page.

FAQ Sections & Search is built around exactly those three faults: as many independent sections as you need, each one appearing only where you drag it, with search that cannot reach outside the section it is on.

How it works

Three steps, then it runs itself.

  1. 01

    Build a section per subject

One for delivery, one for returns, one for each service you sell. Each section has its own name, its own description and its own questions, and nothing is shared between them.

  2. 02

Put it on the page it belongs to

Add the FAQ Section element from the editor and pick which section it shows. Do it again on another page with a different section. Nothing is ever placed on a page for you.

  3. 03

    Find out what is missing

Visitors can search, and you can see which questions get opened and which answers get marked unhelpful. That tells you which answer to rewrite instead of guessing.

How it behaves

The decisions that matter.

  • Search cannot leak between sections

The app fetches one section, and the search only ever sees the questions it was handed. Someone on your delivery page cannot surface a returns answer, because the returns questions were never loaded.

  • Nothing is added to a page for you

The element is never auto-placed. It appears exactly where you drag it and nowhere else, so there is no home-page section to hunt down and delete.

  • Search costs nothing and never waits

Filtering runs in the visitor’s browser against the questions already on the page. No request is made while typing, so there is no lag and no per-search cost.

  • Visitor content is never trusted as markup

Every question and answer is written to the page as text, never as HTML, so nothing typed into an answer can execute on your site.

  • A failure says so

If the questions cannot be loaded, the section says they are unavailable. It never renders as an empty FAQ, which would hide a fault from you and look like a page nobody filled in.

  • One permission, and only one

The app asks to read your plan and basic site info. That is the entire permission list. It never reads orders, contacts, members or any other site data.

Pricing

Everything it touches, stated plainly.

Installing & getting started

  1. Add FAQ Sections & Search to your Wix site from the App Market and approve the permissions listed below.
  2. Open it from your site dashboard under Apps. It adds the FAQ Section element (editor widget, any page) / Dashboard page.
  3. Follow the three steps above. The free tier covers one FAQ section with up to 25 questions, search, and every design control, so you can prove it works before paying.
  4. Stuck? Email [email protected] — two business days response.

Permissions, and why each one

SCOPE.DEV_CENTER.APP-INSTANCE-READ-BASIC-INFO
Read which plan the site is on, so Pro and Business features unlock. This is the only permission the app asks for.

What is stored, and where

  • Your FAQ sections (name, description, slug) and your questions (question, answer, optional category, order) are stored in collections inside your own site.
  • Two counters are kept per question: how many times it was opened, and how many visitors marked the answer helpful or unhelpful. These are plain totals with nothing attached — no name, email, account, IP address or cookie identifies who clicked.
  • The app collects no personal information about your visitors at all. There is no form to fill in, no comment to leave and no account to make.
  • On Pro and above, the app adds a machine-readable copy of the questions on the page as FAQPage structured data. It contains only the questions and answers you wrote.
  • Nothing is copied to any server of ours; the app runs on Wix’s infrastructure and calls only Wix APIs. Uninstalling removes the app’s collections.

Questions people ask.

What actually makes this different?

Independent sections. Most FAQ tools, including the built-in one, give a site a single shared list. Here you can have a delivery FAQ on the delivery page and a completely separate workshops FAQ on the workshops page, and neither can see the other’s questions.

Will it appear on my home page?

Only if you put it there. The element is never added automatically, which is the single most common complaint about the built-in FAQ.

Does the search need a paid plan?

No. Search is on the free plan, because a 25-question FAQ needs it to be usable. What you pay for is more than one section.

Will this get me FAQ rich results in Google?

No, and any app that promises it is overselling. Google restricted FAQ rich results to government and health sites in 2023. What the structured data does buy is a clean machine-readable copy of your answers, which search engines and AI assistants read when they summarise your page.

Can I send someone a link to one answer?

Yes, on Business. Every question has its own anchor, and a link ending in it opens that question and scrolls to it.

Does the free plan expire?

No. One section of up to 25 questions, with search and every design control, free for as long as you like.

Put FAQ Sections & Search on your store.

Add it, use the free plan on a real store, and only pay once it has earned it.
