Brazilian WooCommerce has run for a decade on one plugin for its checkout fields — abandoned in early 2024, never taught the block checkout, and, like every validator of its era, convinced a CNPJ is fourteen digits. The Receita Federal disagrees: alphanumeric CNPJs arrive July 31, 2026, and a company registered under the new format cannot buy from a store that rejects its own tax ID. Checkout Brasil is the modern replacement: both checkouts, both CNPJ formats with real check-digit math, the full Brazilian address — and the incumbent’s exact data keys, so the switch costs you nothing downstream.

Brazilian orders need fields WooCommerce does not ship: CPF or CNPJ with real validation, the street number, the bairro, Inscrição Estadual and Razão Social for Pessoa Jurídica. Checkout Brasil adds them to the classic checkout with masks and a PF/PJ selector — and, unlike the abandoned incumbent, natively to the block checkout too, through WooCommerce’s own Additional Checkout Fields API.

Checkout Brasil validates both formats, check digits included. And because it stores everything under the exact meta keys the abandoned “Brazilian Market on WooCommerce” used, your NF-e emitters and gateways keep reading the data they always read: migration is swapping plugins, not migrating data.

A partir dessa data a Receita passa a emitir CNPJs alfanuméricos — as 12 primeiras posições podem conter letras (ex.: 12.ABC.345/01DE-35), com os dois dígitos verificadores calculados sobre os valores ASCII. Qualquer validação que aceite só números recusa essas empresas no checkout. Este plugin valida os dois formatos, com dígitos verificadores.
Migro do “Brazilian Market on WooCommerce” sem perder dados?
Sim — esse é o ponto. Os campos usam exatamente as mesmas meta keys (_billing_cpf, _billing_cnpj, _billing_persontype, _billing_number, _billing_neighborhood…), com as mesmas convenções de valor. Pedidos e clientes existentes continuam válidos, e integrações que leem essas chaves — emissores de NF-e, gateways — continuam funcionando. Migrar é trocar o plugin, não os dados.
Funciona no checkout em blocos (Gutenberg)?
Sim, nativamente — os campos são registrados pela API oficial de campos adicionais do WooCommerce, e os valores são espelhados nas chaves clássicas para que as integrações funcionem também nos pedidos feitos em blocos. O plugin antigo nunca teve suporte a blocos.
Ele emite nota fiscal?
Não — e o readme diz isso com todas as letras. O plugin adiciona e valida campos no checkout; a emissão de NF-e continua com a sua ferramenta fiscal, que passa a receber os dados capturados corretamente.
Does it work if my store serves both companies and consumers?
Yes — the PF/PJ selector shows the right fields for each buyer type, requires Razão Social for companies, and stores the person type using the incumbent’s exact convention so downstream tools can tell them apart.
What does uninstalling remove?
The plugin’s own settings. Order data stays — it belongs to your orders, under the standard keys your other tools read.
