What it fixes
Four ways solar installers lose jobs, closed.
Leads are expensive
Solar leads cost real money. Answering every one inside a minute protects what you paid for them.
Proposals take weeks to decide
Homeowners compare quotes and talk it over. Spaced follow-ups keep your proposal in the conversation.
Consultations get missed
Confirmations and reminders keep consultations on schedule and make rescheduling easy.
Referrals are the cheapest leads
Neighbors notice new panels. Ask for a review and a referral at the right moment.
The free kit
Everything you need, written out.
Copy what you need from this page, or download the whole kit as a text file. It is free, with no email and no sign-up. You build it inside HighLevel by following the steps; it takes about two hours in one sitting, including a test with your own phone.
Merge fields like {{contact.first_name}} and {{location.name}} fill in automatically inside HighLevel. Replace anything in [square brackets] with your own details.
1. The pipeline
Create one pipeline with these stages, in this order. Every job moves left to right.
- New lead: Every missed call and form lands here.
- Contacted: You have spoken to them.
- Consultation booked: On the calendar.
- Proposal sent: The follow-up automation starts here.
- Contract signed: They said yes. Mark the opportunity Won.
- Installed: Starts the review request and the referral ask.
2. The quote request form
Build this form in HighLevel and put it on your website. Fewer fields means more requests, so every field here earns its place.
- Full name
- Mobile phone
- Property address
- Do you own the home? (yes, no)
- Average monthly electric bill (under $100, $100 to $200, $200 to $300, over $300)
- Roof type and age, if you know them
- Interested in (solar panels, battery storage, both)
- Best time to reach you
- Consent checkbox: “I agree to receive texts from [your business] about my request. Reply STOP to opt out.”
3. Six automations
Each one is a HighLevel workflow. The trigger and step names below are the ones HighLevel shows in its workflow builder, so you can find each one by name.
Missed-call text back
Most callers who reach voicemail ring the next solar installer on the list. A text inside a minute keeps the job yours until you can call back.
Trigger
Call Details (HighLevel’s call trigger). Add two filters: Call direction is Incoming, and Call status is no-answer or voicemail.
Steps
- Send SMS: the text below.
- Create/update opportunity: your pipeline, stage New lead.
- Send internal notification: to you or whoever is on call.
Message
Sorry we missed your call! This is {{location.name}}. Are you looking into solar for your home? Text back and we’ll call you shortly. Reply STOP to opt out. Older HighLevel guides call this trigger Call Status.
New quote request: answer in seconds
The first business to reply usually gets the job. This answers every form at once, day or night, and tells you who to call.
Trigger
Form Submitted. Filter: your quote request form.
Steps
- Create/update opportunity: your pipeline, stage New lead.
- Send SMS: the text below.

Talk soon,
{{location.name}} New solar lead: {{contact.name}}, {{contact.phone}}. Call within 5 minutes. Proposal sent follow-up
Most quotes are not a “no”, they are a “not yet”. Three polite nudges over ten days win back jobs that would otherwise go quiet, and they stop the moment the customer says yes.

Pipeline Stage Changed. Filter: stage is Installed.
Steps
- Wait: 2 hours.
- Send review request: HighLevel’s built-in review request (set your Google review link under Reputation first).
- Optional second workflow: trigger New Review Received, step Send internal notification, so you can reply to every review the same day.

Hi {{contact.first_name}}, it’s {{location.name}}. How is your solar system doing so far? If a friend or neighbor is curious about solar, we’d love to help them too. Feel free to pass along our number. Subject: Know someone who wants lower power bills?
Hi {{contact.first_name}},
Thank you again for going solar with us. If you know anyone thinking about solar, we’d be grateful if you passed along our details.
{{location.name}} 4. Set it up in this order
- Start your 14-day HighLevel trial and set up the account for your business.
- Settings → Phone Numbers: get a local number and forward your business line to it (or publish the new number). If you text US customers, start A2P 10DLC registration the same day.
- Settings: connect your email sending and add your business name, address and logo.
- Opportunities → Pipelines: create the pipeline with the stages above, in that order.
- Sites → Forms: build the quote request form with the fields above, then put it on your website.
- Calendars: create a calendar called “Consultation” with your real working hours.
- Reputation: add your Google review link so the review request has somewhere to send people.
- Automation → Workflows → Create workflow: build the six workflows above, one at a time, and paste in the messages.
- Test it: call your own number and let it ring out, fill in your own form, book yourself an appointment, and move a test opportunity through the stages. Check every text and email reaches your phone and inbox.
- Turn each workflow on (Publish) only after its test passes.
- Long installs: add “Permits” and “Inspection” stages between Contract signed and Installed so every job’s status is visible at a glance.
Before you switch on texts: Texting customers needs their consent. In the US, HighLevel requires your number to be registered for business texting (A2P 10DLC) before texts go out; registration has its own fee and approval time, so start it on day one.

Questions
Good questions, straight answers.
Is the kit really free?
Yes. Everything is on this page and in the download: no email, no sign-up, no catch. HighLevel itself is a paid product with a 14-day free trial; if you start that trial through my link I may earn a commission, and the kit is the same either way.
Can I import it in one click?
Not yet. You build it by following the steps, which takes about two hours in one sitting, including a test with your own phone. The upside is that you will know exactly what every automation does before you switch it on.

Will the texts work for US customers?

Do I need HighLevel to use this solar kit?
The setup steps are written for HighLevel, step by step. The pipeline, the form and every message work in most CRMs, so you can still use the copy elsewhere.
Solar decisions take months. Is ten days of follow-up enough?
It covers the first decision window. For longer cycles, copy the follow-up workflow, set its Wait steps to 30 days and keep the same stage check, so the monthly check-ins stop the moment they sign.
